Foundation seeks nearly $500,000 to expand aviation workforce access through scholarships,
mentorship, outreach, and career pathway development.

The Avolatus Foundation is pleased to announce the submission of its application to the Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers Workforce Development Grant Program. If awarded, the grant would provide nearly $500,000 over a two-year period to support initiatives designed to strengthen aviation workforce development and remove barriers that prevent aspiring aviation professionals from entering the industry.

The proposed program focuses on expanding access to aviation maintenance careers through scholarships, mentorship opportunities, workforce readiness resources, industry engagement, and educational outreach.

The Foundation is proud to have received letters of support from key partners, including Vertical Aviation International (VAI) and Snead State Community College's Alabama Aviation College, reflecting a shared commitment to developing the next generation of aviation professionals.

"Our mission is to help aspiring aviation professionals access opportunities that may otherwise be out of reach," said James Simmons, Director of Governance, Compliance, and Organizational Development for the Avolatus Foundation. "This grant application represents an important step toward creating sustainable pathways into aviation careers while strengthening the future workforce."

While funding decisions have not yet been announced, the Foundation remains committed to advancing educational access, workforce readiness, and industry collaboration regardless of the outcome.
